The Holy Trinity

January 3rd, 2007 | Categories: Deep Thoughts | Tags:

Ever had someone tell you that the bible doesn’t contradict it’self? Nows your chance to tell them they’re full of shit! Just take a look at this and use it against those dumbasses.
Fact: The Christian faith proclaims that there is but one true personal god.
Fact: The Christian faith believes this one true personal god is comprised of the “holy trinity” which is made up of:

  1. The Father (God)
  2. The Son (Jesus… A.K.A. God.. ?)
  3. The Holy Ghost (God.. again? Sounds spooOOooky though, doesn’t it?!)
    The Holy Trinity Question

Let’s think about this for half a second and realize that the holy trinity is comprised of both a father and a son which are both apparently the same thing/guy/ghost. I don’t think it takes a genius to figure out that you cannot be your own father, nor can you be your own son, and be a ghost as well. Apparently the people who wrote the Bible didn’t actually think about what they we’re writing before they put it out to the masses.

Here’s the official explanation, yup, they simply show us that they’re all the same person, but none of them are the other! AMAZING!!! Logic and reason need not apply!

    The Holy Trinity Explination

Ask them how the hell this makes ANY sense at all; what’s the response going to be? “That’s because god is mysterious!”, a-fucking-mazing. Is it really a mystery or is it just logic defying stupidity? I’m leaning towards the latter and never get tired of pointing it out. But of course, the really stubborn will just shake their heads and tell you, “You just don’t get it! It’s God! He can do anything he wants!“.

Alright, fair enough, he can do anything — question is, why the fuck would he? What in the fuck could he possibly gain by doing this? My guess? He doesn’t, it’s pure stupidity on the part of the writers of the bible who can’t count to three.

Dammit i am so with you on that last comment. Why the fuck did god bother to create the earth? So he could torment and suppress its inhabitants? That is some sadistic meglomaniac drifting around up there. And why make the devil? An omniscient god should have figured what would have happened.

        All lies. :)

Nowhere in the bible does Jesus claim to be God. In fact he prays to God on countless occasions. Are we to assume he’s praying to himself? Or maybe he’s sitting at his own right side in heaven? Or maybe he was pleased with himself when a dove was sent and his own voice boomed from heaven down at him saying so?

Clearly, they are not one in the same. Please stop “using this” against true Christians.

More so, it’s irresponsible to dismiss any question with “God is mysterious”.

This god character sounds more like some nasty little cosmic kid, who was out wandering around the universe when he came across this nice blue planet that was evolving nicely on its own, thank you, when he decided it would be fun to kick over a few anthills and otherwise mess with the creatures living there just for fun. He should be spanked and sent on home.

Yeah, the bible doesn’t teach the Trinity, it’s just church dogma with no scriptural basis.

You will be glad to know God actually hates religion just like you guys, he even calls it a whore and he says he is going to cause the worlds governments to destroy it.

        Check out Revelation 17:15,16

a true Christian is one that follows the Bible….so which one do they follow? There are quite a few versions and from my knowledge i proclaim that various copies of Bibles that mentioned nothing of the ‘Trinity’ were destroyed in a fire by Alexander the so-called great. Also for Shaun up there, i got this from one of the modern Bibles: 140 AD Aristides “[Christians] are they who, above every people of the Earth, have found the truth, for they acknowledge God, the creator and maker of all things, in the only-begotten Son and in the Holy Spirit” (Apology 16).

I stumbled on to this website looking for information on the Holy Trinity. I started to read it with interest and the then the immaturity of the writer started to come out with the swearing. All I can think of for these people is a saying I once heard, “To a believer, no explanation is necessary; to a non-believer, no explanation will suffice.” Even though I whole heartedly believe in the Holy Trinity, I don’t know that I believe it is a deal breaker on if you are a Christian—a Christian being someone who has asked Jesus to come into their heart and believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
I don’t think it is that heard to understand the Holy Trinity. God created Jesus so he could come to earth as a man. The Holy Spirit is the way that God can enter our spirit. If you are looking for an argument, you can almost always find a word or a phrase to back your argument. I say, at least you are reading the Bible—God has got to break through to you sooner or later.

Swearing is immaturity? I guess Mark Twain was a really immature guy then.

          >I say, at least you are reading the Bible—God has got to break through to you sooner or later.

Lol, not gonna happen. I’ve heard every argument made by religious folk, it’s always the same garbage. You speak with absolute certainty about the existence of god, when it comes down to brass tax, you always back up and claim it’s a matter of “personal faith” and all that, which can be easily translated to “i don’t have any proof, so i’m gonna pretend like my wanting something to be true makes it so”.

          >God created Jesus so he could come to earth as a man.

Haha, I thought Jesus is supposed to be god… so god created himself, sent him down to earth to be killed, and that’s supposed to be “for our sins”.

          What a joke.

        • March 30th, 2011 at 13:46

God created Jesus so he could come to earth as a man.

Are you saying that Jesus wasn’t at all his *only* begotten son… that Yahweh could have created a second Jesus in case something unexpected had happened to the first? And now that I think about it, I find the stories of Jesus to be nothing more than to raise emotional values; surely the idea of a 33-year-old man being beaten and abused by Roman soldiers and then being nailed to the cross and being crucified to die a slow, painful death is good enough to get just about anyone to shed tears and convert… just for that.

But just because it makes you cry doesn’t make it any more *true* than the stories of the Toothfairy or Jack and the Beanstalk. All myths, created and polished by human beings. I think what’s worse than a fairy tale is when someone literally starts believing it. You sir, are one of the many fools that believe in this. Enjoy running around with your fine herd of blind sheep — you retards won’t end up in any “heaven” but in fact a psychiatric hospital. The more delusional you get, the more likely you will…

Actually, if you read the bible , the scriptures tho dont actually come out and call it a trinity, but they speak of it..since the whole Bible in old and new Testament refer to Jesus as 1 and the same with God there is not enough room here so here’s just a few of the verses

Genesis 1:26..” and God said, Let us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness…”
Genesis 1:27..”So God created man in his OWN image…”

John 1:1..”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John1:2..”and the same was in the beginning with God
John 1:14..”and the Word was made Flesh and dwelt among us..”

1 John 5:7 ” “For there are three who bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one.”

Colossians 2:9,10 “For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the GODHEAD Bodily and ye are complete in him which is the head of all principality and power..”

So this believe if you want, but dont be ignorant!

          March 30th, 2011 at 12:34

Does 1 John 5:7 mean that God is the Father and Jesus is the Bible but if they are all the three one then is Jesus the Father, God the bible and the holy spirit thing still eludes me. And if all three are one then since Jesus is in heaven, presumably, then does that mean that there are two “gods” in heaven? Where does the holy spirit hang out? Yea this made things much simpler…

        March 30th, 2011 at 13:36

It’s not meant to be simple….God is not simple like us

Isaiah 55:8..For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

From What I take, (not saying im right)

Jesus is the face of God, God in the Flesh…God is not a person, he’s a deity, and essence meaning he can be in more than one place at a time…We can’t look to God to be a simple being, we cant try to understand him with our mentality He is above our understanding…For us to know God? It’s impossible to rise up to his level, hence why he came to us and assumed our humanity for us to be one with God in the form of Jesus Christ! So there isnt two “Gods” in Heaven there is only one!..We see God in the Form of Jesus Christ and we feel Gods Presence with the Holy Spirit.

The Father, The Son and the holy spirit, 3 manifestations that is ONE God. use a Triangle as an examplee..(3 points exist in a Triangle but its still one triangle)

Nothing is simple to understand or figure out, we will forever struggle with it, but what I am sayin to the person that posted this is his ignorance to the Bible when the Bible quite frankly Teaches thru scripture of the existance of a Trinity. [Trinity comes from Tri(3) and Unity(1)]

        • Andrew
          March 30th, 2011 at 14:23

But the three points for that triangle are all three separate unique points in space and time, irregardless of any shape they form. Energy and matter can only exist at one point at any given time so how does anything exist at more than one point, if it is matter or energy? If god is neither then what is he? If something exists then it must exist in the form of matter or energy.

If the point of the holy spirit is just to “feel” the presence of god then what is the point of even calling it something different than just god? What is the point of a physical manifestation, jesus, if the holy spirit exists (it seems redundant)?

The argument for not being able to understand is not valid. Just because something is complex does not mean it cannot be understood. I do not understand quantum mechanics because it is complex but others do understand it. If we simply stopped trying to understand things the first time they became complex we would still be in the Dark Ages riding horses and fighting the plague. If god exists then there has to be tangible proof of its existence, by tangible I mean more than just he said he existed in a book.

        March 30th, 2011 at 15:16

I understand and appreciate what your argument is, but again trying to apply Human Logic to God who is an almighty and superior being just wont work…That is the difference between Us and God!.

Unfortunatly Tangible proof doesnt exist, even as a Catholic myself i can admit that, thats why I have my faith…That even tho i can’t “see” God, I know that I can be one with God thru my faith…

But little things that may show that God is real and exists are in read the Bible…The Bible is a book of scriputre and prophecies…Prophecies have come true, from the coming of Jesus(predicted in old testament) to the return of Isreal as a nation in 1948…So stuff that has been predicted in Bible did occur even in our generation..That said that could all just be coincidence or it can be the work of a greater and superior being than us. Who knows, I choose to believe the second, I dont need proof that God exists, I just need my faith..

And thats where the difference will alway lay when the arguement of Does God exist!

          March 30th, 2011 at 17:33

Although I disagree with your argument at least you did not promise to pray for me or insult me/threaten us with death. Your theistic response was far less aggressive and angry than most I have read on the forum. While I do not agree with your opinion I am glad that a civil conversation about religion can exist on the subject.

Like wise, I understand where your stance is, for me events in my life and reading and researching have led me to my increased faith in God, where no doubt I feel better about Life and about my faith and I feel more complete…I personally attest that to God’s presence in my life…So that’s why I will defend any argument when it comes to my faith, but being insulting and threatening downgrades an arguement (works both ways, for or against the existance of God)..As a matter of fact, my faith teaches against that when trying to lead people to Jesus. So people that do it that manner rnt true followers of Christ!
