Who doesn’t love making fun of a religion as crazy as Islam?
It’s impossible for human knowledge of all sorts to even comprehend and be 101% certain about the existence/non-existence of God, meaning that we never will know God in our lifetime, so why bitch about something neither sides (Atheist Skeptics vs Religious Believers) can ultimately prove?
Science is intriguing and all. However, I still retain my position that we just *can’t know* what truly exists, other than the resources we are given.
To “conclude” that there is no possibility of a higher power ever existing in my opinion is rather lazy if you’re not continuing to question what YOU believe and don’t believe.
The Big Bang Theory doesn’t necessarily put God out of the picture, it’s just a scientifically-accurate theory that tries to explain just how the universe itself formed without referencing religion, based on what physical elements and materials that we have handy to make such a witty observation from what makes up our planet, the stars and galaxies.
As far as Evolution goes, even if I were Atheist, I still really don’t give a fuck if we evolved from apes or not. Because regardless, humans ARE a part of the animal kingdom, whether you like it or not.
We are mammals, but truly gifted ones at that. I just find it strange that humans are the *only* known group from the rest of living species that has been able to invent, to think new ideas, to understand communication, to do so many amazing things.
If we were given that gift from nature alone, then pretty much nature (whatever the fuck gave us this kind of feature) itself can be considered our “god.” Because I mean, we’re the ONLY ones to have such a special and distinctive kind of life to live with.
With all other animals, they are restricted to only certain features given by nature, some better, others inferior.
For example, dogs can’t understand that there’s more to do with their abilities (such as rescuing people in danger, guiding disabled/blind people, etc.) unless WE teach them something that they have yet to discover in their hidden abilities. Some “accident” it was. But I’m being civil here.
And I admit that there are things that other animals do that we can never accomplish, such as running and steering tightly like a leopard, morphing our bodies into camouflage, etc.
And seriously, Christians/Muslims, consider other spiritual views, not just your own. That is what kept me away from your bloody cults, and I will not become a victim to this again.

I know that there are apes that have understood human inventions and some that could pronounce words aswell. What I meant about us being truly unique is that we were able to EVOLVE our intelligence with critical thinking.
All of what we’ve invented, the things you carry in your home, even the fine intelligent construction of your home are bits of concrete evidence that we’re the most unique of all the animal kingdom (barely). We developed things that no other animal would be capable of doing.
We even talk by using words that we’ve invented alone, without just making a bunch of unintelligible noises, unlike with the rest of what the animal kingdom does.
However, if elephants, dolphins, and whales COULD talk, just like humans could, then we could learn something we’d never think. We’re not the most intelligent, go figure..

Buddhism is more of a philosophy than a religion since most Buddhists don’t believe in a higher power (from what I can tell). As a result, I don’t think about Buddhism much, not to mention to the whole pacifism thing tends to put them in my good books since they don’t go around telling people what to do.
As for Hinduism.. well, I almost never see any stories about Hinduism in the news.. nor have I ever really had any in depth conversations with any Hindus, so it’s hard to complain about it, though I’m their story is just as silly as the Abrahamic religions.

I am not going to give you my life story, I have dealt with plenty of religious people in my life, but this is mostly irrelevant, knowing a muslim, christian or jew has nothing to do with their beliefs being false; they will be false whether I talk to them or not.

Dear friends in this topic. I just wanna tell you that preserving harmony is a good deed and it is one of the good value of human, who has brain to think about cause and effects. I suggest here, anyone who think he/she is a human, he/she must preserve the harmony by understanding others’ sensitivity and stop condemning each other. Regardless who you are and what religion you hold, peace is what we want all the time. Think again. Harmonious life can be developed. Hmm… Do you not realize the stigma that comes with saying you’re an atheist? My best friend and I are both atheists and we refer to ourselves as heathens, simply because that is what the religious folk would have us labeled as. Religion sees atheists as the raping, murdering, baby eating scum of the universe, yet you never hear of atheists blowing up abortion clinics or flying planes into buildings. Personally, I believe in mutual tolerance. However, I greatly enjoyed those cartoons, because the key word in mutual tolerance is MUTUAL. If every religious person tolerated every other religious (and non-religious) person, those cartoons would never need to exist. As it stands, they are a refreshing antidote to the hatred and violence brought to the world by extremism. Satirising extremism is an excellent way to highlight just how ridiculous it really is.
All those religious people here trying to defend their religion with laughably misspelled and aggressive posts, are you even thinking about what you are doing? How do you expect to change anyone’s mind about perceiving all religious people as intolerant when you behave in such an intolerant manner? Everyone knows there are tolerant religious people – websites like these are for poking fun at those who are not tolerant. Notice that the above cartoons always use words like ‘Islamist’ and ‘Extremist’ to describe the depicted characters – NOT ‘Muslim’. Hence no one is saying that all muslims are terrorists. The derisive comments about religion in general are also no less justifiable than the scorn that many religious preachers pour upon atheists.
If you believe in your right to be religious and your right to preach that religion to others, you certainly have no grounds to disagree with this site. Personally I find street-preachers offensive, but I don’t scream in their face ‘omg u r lyk so fukn RASIST’, I just accept their right to believe that their actions are for the greater good, and walk on, no matter how intensely (i.e. extremely intensely) I dislike what they are doing. 1 – I know many Muslims “in person”.
As a matter of fact I was born into a muslim family in a muslim country but thankfully I’ve had the great advantage of relocating to a free – and mostly secular – society before indoctrination had a chance to sink its ugly teeth into my psyche.
Having come from a background that mixes 2 greatly different cultures allowed me to make an INFORMED decision about Islam (and other religions).
I’ve not rejected Islam out of ignorance. Quite the opposite…

I know enough about it to be able to question it in depth.
The first thing I learned when asking the more “difficult” questions is that the answers accepted by religious folk are utterly ludicrous.

There has never been such a creature in existance as a horse with wings.

The ordering of the Ayaat is illogical yet you apply “override” rules if one conflicts with a previous one.

Especially considering the difficulty of mass producing books in those days and the ultra high levels of illiteracy.

Islam has a bad image because the aggressive minority is getting a pretty loud voice these days.
The passive majority aren’t doing enough to save the reputation of islam as a peaceful religion.
Anyone who claims islam has been “hijacked” by the extremists is only deluding themselves.
If extremists have taken the reins then the moderates should accept their roles as enablers.
Those who are too blindsided to see flaws in their life stance are always too happy to pass the blame so that their rose tinted view of their religion is not jeopardised.
If you live in the middle east and you spend every evening watching Al Jazeera then your intake of “news” will be just as warped as any americans who believe that wanker Bill O’reilly of Fox news.
3 – What you think you feel is not god, it is any of a broad spectrum of emotions set off by a potentially infinite number of stimuli.
It’s a feeling that you cannot explain so you assume it to be god.
You must realise that people of other religions feel it too, and they attribute it to their own god(s).
Nontheists can feel strong emotions from observing a beautiful sunset, or an excellent painting, or listening to technically complex music or watching a thrilling movie, or even getting an adrenaline rush from a rollercoaster or a sports game.
But you, as a religious pawn, assume it must be god.
Not just any god, it must be YOUR god as described in YOUR holy book specifically.
Surely you must realise you’re only a follower of any given religion because of the circumstances you were born into.
If you were born in Iraq to muslim parents then it is very very likely you will also see yourself as a muslim when you’re old enough to understand it.
If you were born in 13th century Spain then chances are you would have been catholic.
That’s what they call being a product of your environment and there are countless examples of it today and throughout history so don’t even try to deny that.
Christianity may seem false to a muslim because of what you have been taught (and vice versa), but islam will seem just as ridiculous to christians.
Both sides are arrogantly confident that they are right and their rewards will come in the afterlife.
A by-product of this way of thinking is a lack of respect for life (in this world) because too many people think this is just a gateway to something greater and eternal.

To go back to your question “how do you know there is no god?”, I think that is a question that misses the point.
So I’ll ask you not how do you know that there is a god, but how can you accertain that there is only YOUR god (as opposed to many gods, or no gods, or a different god to what your religion describes)?

4 – You claim you study all religions from their original sources, right?
Well that’s your problem right there.
Any self-affirming book should be approached with caution and skeptisism, but I’m willing to bet that you’ve never read the Qur’an CRITICALLY.
You tell yourself even before you pick it up that anything you read in it must be true because it says it is the direct word of allah.
If I write an autobiography about my life, would you trust a neutral review written by someone who’s read it? Or would you trust my own review of my own book which says everything you read here is true and timeless and has everything you need to know to live your life by my example?
It may be true that today’s surviving religions don’t advertise extermination of non believers as a tenet of society, but religions do provide an opportunity for people to pigeon-hole others into a category based on their beliefs.

Huyayy was brought out wearing a flowered robe in which he had made holes about the size of the finger-tips in every part so that it should not be taken from him as spoil, with his hands bound to his neck by a rope. When he saw the apostle he said, ‘By God, I do not blame myself for opposing you, but he who forsakes God will be forsaken.’ Then he went to the men and said, ‘God’s command is right. A book and a decree, and massacre have been written against the Sons of Israel.’ Then he sat down and his head was struck off.”

Qurayza and B. Amr b. Qurayza. “Killed.” He said: Then I ask of you, Thabit by my claim on you that you join me with my people, for life holds no joy now that they are dead, and I cannot bea to wait another moment to meet my loved ones.” So Thabit went up to him and struck off his head. However, the agony of having his clan eradicated becomes too much for al-Zabir. He requests the man whose life he had spared to not spare his, an instruction duely followed. We must assume that his wife, children and property are returned to the pool of spoils. When Abu Bakr heard of his words “until I meet my loved ones”, he said: “Yes, by Allah, he will meet them in hell for ever and ever.” Abu Bakr takes a little liberty here. The future caliph condemns al-Zabir to hell along with his clan. Possibly for resisting Muhammad during the Battle of the Trench. Thabit b. Qays said concerning that, mentioning al-Zabir: My obligation was ended; I was noble and persistent When others swerved from steadfastness.
