Mitch Daniels Is Fucking Idiot
Comments about ‘atheists’ put off nonreligious voters
Newly elected Austrailian prime minister Julia Gillard, Australia’s first female prime minister, is not a religious person. President Barack Obama is the first U.S. president to acknowledge nonreligious Americans in his Inaugural Address. However, Gov. Mitch Daniels, who is being considered by some as a candidate for president in 2012, in an interview with WANE.com in December, said, “And atheism leads to brutality. All the horrific crimes of the last century were committed by atheists — Stalin and Hitler and Mao and so forth — because it flows very naturally from an idea that there is no judgment and there is nothing other than the brief time we spend on this Earth.”
This statement categorizes the 16 percent of Hoosiers who are not religious as atheists and makes false statements about them. Had he made a statement of this type about Muslims, Jews, gays or other minority groups, they would be calling for his resignation.
A letter was sent twice to Daniels inviting him to visit the Center for Inquiry Indiana, which is about five blocks from his office, so that he can learn more about people who are not religious. No acknowledgement of the receipt of either letter has been received.
Are the nonreligious the only group about whom a governor and aspiring presidential candidate can make derogatory remarks with no consequences? Does he think that 16 percent of his constituents are not worthy of respect from their governor?

Just an observation- why is it that when “believers” post articles about athiests, they use words like “Misguided”, “Non-believer”, etc. but this blog and so many others are almost REQUIRED to refer to the poor souls who feel the need of some kind of belief system in their life with some version of the “F” word???? Just noticing how everyone who isn’t an athiest is either a “F”-ing idiot, is engaged in teaching dumb “F” ery, etc. Can someone explain that to me, please? It is hard to recommend this site to friends of mine who are struggling with their need of a super-being in the sky when I know the language will turn them off.

Maybe your friends aren’t ready to face the real world.
Maybe it’s safer to stay in their bubbles.
Heaven forbid they’ll read a naughty word.

Atheist blogs come in all different varieties. This is not one I would recommend to the Christian-lite crowd or anyone interested in learning more about atheism. This one is more for blowing off steam about annoyances. If you want to introduce friends to atheist blogs, I’d recommend Friendly Atheist or Common Sense Atheism.

Because this guy just made a completely false statement, and in the process insulted me and many others by accusing us of being violent, immoral murderers…..?

Calling us brutal, horrific criminals is nicer to you than using a choice expletive? Grow up.

http://www.wane.com/dpp/news/politics/Daniels-talks-candidly-about-his-faithSee and hear the governor’s full comments here. I would say that not only would the 16% of “unafiliated” in Indiana fit into the group that he labels as “atheists” but also a majority of the progressive religious people–those who support separation of church and state and accept evolution. He demonstrates a total lack of understanding of history and science.

While I understand what Jusme was TRYING to say, I guess I fall into the category of those adult enough to ignore words that might offend me in posts. I mean, “When I see the word God in print it makes me feel closer to heaven” makes as much sense as “I object to you using “f” words in your blog” to me. If something offends you, ignore it, get past it, or have a rational, reasonable discussion about it, not a thinly veiled attack worded as “Just an observation” people!

It’s obvious Gouverneur Daniels is an idiot. He’s killing Indiana’s public school systems, annoying the piss out of anyone who thinks a little bit left-wing, is ready and willing to raise taxes and could care less if it puts more people on the street, and not one bill he has passed has pleased anyone in the whole damn corn-fed place. He’s brought no jobs no big business no progress to the state. He should be castrated from office. If he dares to dream as high as president I would say to him he is not worthy of licking shit off the bottom of a dirty dogs nut sack. His next political move will be contructing a huge fence around the state to “keep out of the ‘non-believers’ and retain ‘violence’. I’d love to see Daniels gettin bent over a molded truck-stop toilet getting handed the business by a homosexual athiest gangbanger who’s smoking a big fat marlboro.
Up yours Gouverneur D. Good luck with your next Reich you nazi bastard.
