Well made, but I must object to one thing- you are so very significant! One of the definitions of the word is “having meaning”, and all humans, regardless of their belief system (or lack thereof, as my prof would say) most definately HAS meaning. You proved your significance by putting your thoughts so very well. To me, if to no one else, you are significant. Just thought you should know. =)
I don’t think this is a self esteem issue. By insignificant, he meant that the human species as a whole does not have a special relationship with the gods anymore or less than other species, and considering the immeasurable yet immense scope of the universe, our planet itself and everything within it is certainly rendered insignificant by comparison.
